Architecturally designed and built in the 1980s, this house retains its relevance in today’s architectural landscape - a testament to the vision of both homeowner and architect.
The homeowner is meticulous with maintenance, and had specific requests regarding paint products. A long-lasting paint finish that would protect her home’s substrates was key. Site visits were held with Dulux to specify the most appropriate paint products and ensure we followed due process. This means the homeowner receives the Dulux paint manufacturer’s warranty.
An aesthetically pleasing result was also vital to the homeowner. She invested in an exterior colour scheme devised by Peta Tearle Colour & Design Consultant, Peta is renowned in New Zealand for creating beautiful paint colour schemes. The outcome is a timeless, classic palette that unassumingly distinguishes the house from its neighbours.
Due to the height of the house (close to three stories in some elevations), significant scaffolding was required to provide access. The cedar surfaces at the apex had been previously stained and it was the homeowner’s desire to re-stain them. However, due to the need to frequently re-stain, and scaffold each time, the homeowner decided to paint this area. The result is beautifully painted cedar surfaces.
